The latest downloadable content is called Hearthfire and has been made available on the Xbox 360 as of September 4th, It is expected to show up for PC within the next month or two. As for PS3 users, they may never see it as performance issues have still not been solved for the console by Bethesta and there is still no projected release date for Skyrim's first DLC, Dawnguard...let alone the latest one, sorry sony fans.

In terms of size, Hearthfire's 75MB is dwarfed by the previously released Dawnguard's healthy 581.7MB. However, this is understandable seeing as this new DLC does not focus on adding more story to the game, but rather adding more features. You are able to obtain a deed from certain yarls for land plots on which you are able to build your own home and customize it to your own liking, anything from your own armory and trophy room to your own alchemy tower and a bard in your main hall to sing songs of heroic tales from Skyrim lore, and last but not least, house your family. your spouse and any children that you wish to adopt will reside within your home.
these details just scratch the surface of what you are actually able to with the new features in this DLC, it is pretty exciting even though it does not add much story to the game. I personally hope this will be the last DLC released for this game. I feel like DLC for any game is the developer just feeding its fan base crumb by crumb...and for Bethesta this is very unusual as they normally decide to put alot of work into a rather large expansion pack that adds hours upon hours of new story, several new weapons and armor, and in many cases new great factions to join and play through. I hope that Bethesta sticks with this method and chooses to release one or two expansion packs instead of these little DLC add-ons.
