Not necessarily, it could be he is using a crack on a steam version. The crack was for retail. So obviously they will not go together.
Either way I flagged for the thread to be closed, since the guy admitted to trying another crack.. why I have no idea, if he has legit he should be able to play legit.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

The problem is solved! In my case I am using sound by my HDMI in video card. But I had also on integrated Realtek HD Audio Card. After turning it off in Device Manager game is not pausing anymore. Thank for all help...
