Feh... I hate to nitpick after complimenting the changes so far in my last post, but I can't say I'm a fan of the new central part of the main page. It seems to stick out like a sore thumb from the rest of the design. The right side of it isn't particularly bad, but the new trainer updates and reviews section on the left just doesn't fit at all for me.

In terms of looking "professional", I think the previous design actually looked closer to the mark. This looks like it's been purposely shoved and compressed together rather than being seamless.

There's also the second search below that? There's the search at the top of the page, and another below the trainer updates, though the latter looks like it was designed for a different layout.

(I should probably mention that I used to design and make a lot of sites, so my opinion is probably somewhat coloured by my own preference in site designs, so my apologies if I've stepped on any toes with this- we designers/developers are a fickle lot.)

Out of curiosity, there's also the advertisements of sorts for getting Unlimited membership when you're already Unlimited... I was wondering if they were going to be hidden at all depending on your membership type?

We appreciate your feedback, but the new design is here to stay and other pages within the site will be following suit like the mainpage and the trainers page. We did a usability study and also consulted with SiteTuners.com and SEO.com, both industry leaders in their fields, to determine the best course of action for the new layout. The content has not been changed and there are plenty of ways to view it throughout the site.

We will be doing something with the UNL ads and ad space for UNL in due time.

Sometimes change is good sometimes it is not i personally dont like the look its even more confusing than before...

(in design as general rule i try to in my work make it simple make it user friendly as possible and that motto has never failed me)

Also took me little while to figure i was still Unlimited member with all the new "sign up now for unlimited membership" messages. (but atleast now after learning the new button locations etc. I find everything i need like before)

I like the new top round CH logo.

Took me little while to figure where to get the nice big list of new things before i noticed that small "more..." link near bottom.

Thank you for your effort this did not work for me (usability got tiny bit worse or might be that i got so used to the old setup) but you cannot please everyone

So, we remove 3/4 of the CRAP littering the homepage and that makes it MORE confusing for you? If you miss the tabs and the updates, then simply go to this neat little page we made about a year ago called the GAMING SUPERPAGE (Link). There is a handy link to it in the CHU dashboard. If you miss all the message board posts and/or blogs on the homepage, guess what? We also have a SOCIAL SUPERPAGE with all that information on it (Link).

Over 65% of our daily visitors are NEW to the site. The majority of THOSE visitors are looking for a cheat to a particular game. They are not going to read through 100 different updates on 7 different tabs to find what they are looking for. They are going to quickly scan the recent updates to see if they recognize their game and then they're going to look for the search function. There was no point in having primary subpages for things like Achievements/Tropies, Savegames, etc as again, most people aren't going to simply browse through hundreds of titles they don't own to find the one savegame they need. We have put our best foot forward, focusing on Trainers, Reviews and Wallpapers and simplified the experience for the majority of users. For the other longtime or advanced users, we offer virtually the SAME experience as before on other pages within the site (like the SUPERPAGES).

Heres an idea how bout making some of the old styles available to unl members only with a discalimer that no website support can be given for that style or something.

No, sorry. Every time we make a change to the content or database, we would have to go back to these old pages and make sure they still work or update them to work with the new content. Like I said earlier, there are enough other pages within the site that do almost the same thing and look the same way as the previous design.
