Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
It is my favorite video game ever made and it doesn’t follow the movies at all, but what it does do is expand on the vision created by George Lucas in new and extraordinary ways. I’m not the biggest “Star Wars” fan and I’m not the biggest RPG fan, but I became a much bigger enthusiast of both after playing this incredible game.

The first Pokemon film and Pokemon 2000.
I quite liked the first Tomb Raider film, which was strange because I dislike the games and Angelina Jolie.

The Silent Hill movie showed that you could actually make a decent video game movie if you remain faithful to the source material.
Resident evil was rubbish because of the total disregard it showed to the games series. This highlights the problem with game adaptions as opposed with say novel adaptions. Games are valued as lower form of art (if at all) therefore publishers seem to think making a film that only vaguely resembles the game it's based on is acceptable.
