I've had whole dragons appear purple. That weird unitone purple that everything is rendered in before textures are added. Skyrim will have a patch and it will appear. Then either Skyrim or NVidia will release a patch and it will go away. Cycle repeats.

If I turn down the texture setting that will correct the issue, so try that. When either the game or your graphics card releases another patch turn the texture setting back and see if the problem is fixed.

I'm still using Catalyst 10.5 on my Radeon 5770 and Skyrim looks fine on it . After a few hours on a session I'll get the occasional purple texture because the game is a video ram muncher , but in general it looks fine . You're best off only updating graphics drivers if any games start having issues with a particular set of drivers . You know the old saying , don't fix what ain't broke and all that .

I think you are right, do you know where i might find the 11.3 driver for amd hd 5700?

NVM i found it. thanks for the tip. I uninstalled the 12.2 version and went to the 11.11 version and it works like a champ. AMD..... IDIOTS!
