Yesterday I got this game again from my friend's little brother and he's not a Pokemon fan, and it seems he got it from one of his cousins. Anyway when I started the game I clicked "Continue" to see the current save file before I start new game again...and I was shocked. The guy has both Lugia and Ho-Oh, he also has Celebi and MEW! and 18 Masterballs!

I want to play this game again so bad but I'll feel sinned if I started a new game. What should I do? >_>

Very difficult situation. I am not sure what to tell you. I do have a similar story which ended quite horribly. When I was younger and Pokemon first came out, I had gone to GameStop to get the game used ( either blue or yellow).

Upon starting the game I noticed that the previous save had quite a few Pokemon, such as Alakazam (who has always been one of my favorite Pokemon). Being that I was new to Pokemon (video game )and the game did not come with an owners manual.. When I started see the screen flicker I thought it was corrupt and deleted it. A few hours later in my new game save one of my Pokemon became poisoned, thus I learnt the purpose of the flashing screen.

but who are you kidding? ay who are you lying to? you know if they want you
best believe they will find you...

Start a new game, and then cheat to get all those pokemon back.

Because odds are, the person who got celebi in the first place was playing the game with a gameshark or something like that. I think celebi was a special event pokemon only released in japan iirc.

What I do when I don't want to lose rare pokemon but want to start again is just trade them to another game (if you have one)

My Diamond game is my "storage" for Pokemon with all the obtainable legendaries from every GBA & DS versions of the Pokemon games plus just about every other Pokemon I have caught (aiming for all but probably wont get there)

So either cheat like LM47 said or just get another copy of the game and store them

Problem is I don't have a cheating device, another game boy or a link cable. I would've done what you guys suggested if I had those.

Tough choice. Whenever I would play Pokémon I always found it difficult to get into it with an old gamesave that I haven't used in ages, so it must be even more confusing with someone else's save.

Personally, I'd go for a new game.

You could always play pokemon on PC using an emulator. You can cheat all the way you want, just like i always do.
