The trainer crashes randomly for me on steam version. Crashes more specially opening doors and loading. Remember guys this game has some issues with DX 11 an random crashes by it self. How ever the good part i manage to save upgrade points and XP. Hope this issue gets resolved i think the issue is on the game designer side.
Hopefully you're right and the trainer is not casing the crashes. As it is right now I can't play the game with the crashes they just happen to frequently for me.
It was from anti-cheat protection that triggered game to crash when they detect the trainer.
I played game with DX 11 disabled but still crash due to anti-cheat protection, ugh.

I wonder if there is any way to get around it.

I'd like to think that it is anti cheat protetction but I'm not sure if that is the cause. From everything written in the thread I get the feeling the NEW trainer for retail has not crashed the game on the CheatHappens staff when they have tested it.
I played the whole game through and beat it without the trainer in DX 11 the night it came out and no crashes. I played another 3 hours the following day, doing the challenges with no crashes. I downloaded the trainer and enabled the max xp only and that was when I started seeing crashes 10-15 minutes into play.
So for me, the game runs fine without the trainer for 9 hours straight in DX 11, actually 12 since I paused it for 2 to eat and do other things, then came back to it to beat it. Yet when I run the trainer, it crashes eventually every time. The only function I used was the max xp too. As for when and where it crashes, it can be anywhere, from going back to do the Riddler challenges in the main game, to the melee/stealth challenges. One time just looking at the statues that unlock. Hope this helps.

After reading your post I feel it could be the trainer but as I may have said above from what I understand the CheatHappens staff have not been able to duplicate the game crashing in their testing of the trainer.

I hate cheat protection. I understand the developers don't want people cheating in the online portions of games but there has to be a way for them to add cheats without them working in multiplayer.
