Just keep looking at me. Ruin my stealth and your stealth. Don't even attack the guy. Just get us both killed. Really. Appreciate it.
I play sneaky-archer type of character. I cannot count how many times I've gotten great stealth-hit 3.0x damage crit headshots on my "friends" as they jump up from a strategic position to run in front of me just because the Hidden Icon (the eye) opens a tiny crack.
I don't take on unwanted/unwarranted companions to travel with, but the game does force npc co-op on some quests. Since those companions are usually essential and cannot die (they just get knocked out instead of dead), I usually just let them go about their business until they are no longer in the way (read that -- face down bleeding on the ground and out of the way). Now I know exactly where the baddies are and where they will be headed to (my friends half-lifeless body) and I can pick them off in complete safety.
Two things I really don't like about having a train of npcs behind me is; the conversations they tend to spark up in the middle of some dark passageway I'm trying to navigate if they get too close to me, and while I'm getting that perfect lineup with the zoomed in bow... and they bump into me sliding/pushing me out of position making me miss my target in turn alerting the whole room to where I am (which usually makes them jump up and run in front of me LOL ).

The problem is that half the time, like in the screenshot, they refuse to fight. They just sit there looking at me getting detected and getting knocked out and aggroing everything on to me because once they are knocked out, rather than going back to fight, they roll back to me pulling all the enemies to where I am.
What's worse is that you can't upgrade their gear.
I figured that I was going to be clever with the pickpocket equipped items perk so I stole Aela's Nord Armor and gave her some Daedric Armor.
What happened? She started parading around in lingerie rather than equip anything.
