Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Message Board  

When I shout at the Greybeards, they cower and cringe but it does not trigger them to say anything but "Shout at us, you will not harm us" over and over and over again.

I'm on the PC.
Any clues, anyone?

If this is the quest, make sure you are holding down the shout key long enough and saying all the words of the shout.

I haven't figured out how to use the shouts individually. I guess you put them in favorites and then number them on hotkeys?

You have to choose Unrelenting Force in Shouts.

And you have to shout the second word in that shout I believe, so hold the key down for as long as possible.

Put them in Favorites, press the Q button while playing to open the favorites menu.
Right click the shout or press E to equip it.

Alternatively, just select it in the magic menu.

if you used cheats to get all shouts, then you gotta time the shout. i mean if they want you to shout the first word, you tap it. if they want you to shout the second word, you hold it but release it before the final word comes out. i was sort of stuck when they want Fus, and i gave them fus ro dah instead.

aha! i was using the wrong shout but also, i did do a psb on the console - was immediately sorry but oh well.

so using Unrelenting Force, I still got the same response, Show us your voice, you will not harm us.

So naturally i blasted them. They got all riled up and turned around and attacked me and chased me half way down the mountain, ROTF. may have to start over, i mean it won't kill me but almost.
