I'm just pass 40hours of gameplay and I only finish the companions quest. Haven't even visted the Greybeard...
The map itself it sooooooo huge compare to oblivions ( From my view ) and of cause running around on foots does make reaching the quests target longer even with the horse. But that's the fun in RPGs . Half of the time I do a lot of running away.. keep finding random dragons attack

I am about 30 to 40 hours in the game and have the whole map open to me. Taking my time. Rushing through the game is not good! This game is just not main quest! I travel to all my places instead of fast traveling and I am only on the companions

I THINK I'm getting close to the end.
Haven't finished the main quest yet, but I just started it and just 'saved' Esbern.

Currently level 40 now, with 100 sneak with full nightingale armour, Meridia's Dawnbreaker sword, and Mehrunes Dagon's Razor, and an enchanted Ebony bow, and last but not least, high training in destruction magic.

My char. has become pretty much invincible.

I can't imagine buying such a huge Open World game just to play one, or just a small few number of quests. Plus the game doesn't "end" since there will always be bounty quests and such... for as long as there's respawning targets, it will always be there... forever... like herpes.

For a first run, just to see the ending, okay I'm sure that was fun in a way.

You know, I think that's why some people aren't enjoying Skyrim. They've come from games like the Witcher 2, which, whilst it's certainly a good game, is, to all intents and purposes, on rails. There are clear stages of the game that you go through at set times, with a handful of sidequests you can do on the side of the tracks.

The Witcher 2 certainly has better graphics too, but to have those graphics in a vast, sprawling, open game-world like Skyrim would require better PC's than most people have as far as I can tell. They look like similar games in a way, swords, magic etc, but they're really very different, and I think some people (And I'm not referring to anyone in this thread) have gone into Skyrim expecting something that it isn't and never was going to be.

That's not to say that games on tracks like the Witcher or things like the single player campaigns in games like CoD are bad, not at all. They're faster paced, more 'in your face', more cinematic, and there's a lot of enjoyment to be had in that. But if that's what some people were expecting of Skyrim, I'm not at all surprised that some would be disappointed with it.

I myself come from Dragon Age, Witcher, Mass Effect stock.

This was a big change for me, but I decided "why not?". I do not regret doing so, there's something about this game that has me playing for hours on end. Something Oblivion failed to do with me, (I played for about 20 mins before i ragequit and uninstalled it.)
I do wish the graphics were better, but I understand than in such a HUGE world, it would not be feasible.

Nonetheless, I came in a skeptic on the series, and now frankly, I like this game quite a bit. The only changes I would request, some cinematic, a more linear story line. (I still feel lost in the story, with no clue or Idea on what the point is.)

But the openness, and the massive size of the world makes up for that. Now I know what people were so for.

I am an elder scrolls fan boy lol I have to admit that. I could play them all over and over and over again. Cause I enjoy them. The graphic's are good to me and the stories are good to. Now I have to say at first I was like really exicted. But am even more excited about skyrim now From what people say the main quest is a little short. To me that was a little upsetting to hear but theres a tone more to do in the game. Just to run through as fast as you can is just pointless and annoying.

Now to games today are manly done for MP factor and graphics Now certain games that look like gods are like that due to scale ratio's Crysis and 2 arent huge open world base. manly small so there is more room to up the graphics hence why it looks awesome. Now to get that in the elder scrolls world. I would say you would need a dang ferrari style computer to make it or more to the point handle it.

The game dose it just fine. Games are not supposed to be like real life. In my books. There to take you away. Now if your going to be a pain and stare at things really close up and cry like a girl then you do not deserve to play the game!

It is an amazing upgrade from Oblivion though, that game honestly, looked like ****. One of the reasons i got rid of it so quickly, characters were hideous, deformed things, that looked like they were made of play-dough.

Then again that game came out when, 2006? So cannot really blame them.
