Starts to take like 20-30 minutes to boot into Windows. Scanned for viruses and it came back clean. Did a CHKDSK and Windows reported bad clusters (for hard drives, that's the worst thing that can be reported...like 100 times worse than viruses).

So we shall see how long until this HDD bites the dust. Didn't even last a year. For shame Western Digital.

To be fair it lasted longer than the SeaGate this laptop came with. That died in like 2 months.

Maybe think about going for a pure SSD, when I say pure I mean all SSD, not the half and half types that sell for cheap with big storage which are half SSD and half SATA spin drive.

And with your main drive as SSD maybe get a cheaper larger SATA drive for storage as your secondary drive.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

One of the many reasons I have to stick to a desktop.

That is the smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say about anything.

Well yeah but this does lots of college stuff as well so it's ideal for me...at least for now. The highest demanding game I'm only gonna play on it is SC2 for now anyway (and it works with lowest graphic settings and I'm content with that for now).

Am tempted to build a machine with a 3D capable graphics card and play SC2 in 3D for kicks though.

My computer recently got this nasty browser hijacking virus that I can't seem to get rid of, so I sent it to the local repair shop because I don't know how to computers. (I am on a netbook atm)
