Neither are on my computer. I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit) and Internet Explorer isn't installed. Do you have any other suggestions for things to try? As I wrote last time, the other CH trainers I've used are all working without any problems.
What do you mean you "Internet Explorer isn't installed"? IE's underlying DLL's are critical components of Windows and do more than just display a web browser. IE is a dependency for trainer authentication and your OS would be crippled in administrative functionality.
If you meant turning it off through Add/Remove Features, this does not uninstall IE. Microsoft's documentation even states this during the prompt it gives you when applying the changes. Any programs that are dependent on IE (such as trainer authentication) will continue to use IE's core files (and if you have version 10 or above installed, this is the reason why it fails).
Now you completely lost me, to be honest. If I can't uninstall IE completely anyway, since its DLLs are crucial for my system and also the trainer activation, PWizard's advice to "uninstall IE10+11 or Win8" somehow seems to be contradictory. Does it mean I should install an older version of Internet Explorer?
What makes the whole issue so confusing for me is that the Magic 2012 trainer is the only one I have tried which crashes at start-up. Recently I've played Skyrim again and the Magic successors 2014 and 2015, and their respective trainers worked perfectly well, as did all those others I tried over the last few years.

Yes, I have the same problem. The trainer crashes during the authentication process. None of the other CH trainers I know exhibits this kind of behavior, so it seems to be a fault in the trainer.
I just downloaded the trainer and ran it. it has already been updated to run on windows 8.
it ran fine here
I am not sure what could be blocking your trainer but it seems to function just fine here.
did you download the LATEST TRAINER and update your game on LEGIT STEAM to the LATEST VERSION?
best,
Cal
