when you compleate a senoro you then might turn off your ps2 and then the next day you turn it on and then you must complate the senoro again
this only happens with babborasa gengis knan and john of arc and senoro 3 of SALIDIN
im on senoro 3 of saladin when you take down th frnench knight renolded de chafalon

IIRC AOE2 on the PS2 was a bit funny on saves, usually you could save no problem, but some scenario's had checkpoints in them and scripted event's. So they wouldn't save to the point you played but to the last checkpoint so to speak.
Some games in the past have been like this.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA
