This might actually open the door to possibly creating trainers on the PS3.
For single player only of course.

Wouldn't it have to be in ISO format? You've never done that before...
Hurraaa!!!! finaly pirates can injoin games on there PS3, bad for Sony now they will get drunk because of this
You sir are fail.
@others - Although Sony of course can't change your hardware, they can ban Hardware ID's like GPU ID's etc from PSN.
The GPU ID's will stay the same as they are manufactured, and they wouldn't be able to obtain that information over PSN anyway, because there's a hackshield in place and all that jazz.

Although future firmware updates wont stop the future dongles etc used to bypass security features, it can however update software so that PSN networks can easily ask for Hardware ID's.
And GPU ID's are not all the same, each one has a unique ID, you are thinking of something else like Hardware Manufacturer ID etc.

I had been able to make a trainer for some PS3 games a few months back, the difficulty was deploying it so people could use it.
Jailbreak was a good start due to possibility that homebrew apps could be used, but there was no real major development scene for it.
Then various forms of jailbreaks came out.
And now the rootkey, with the rootkey it is very possible now for any form of distribution of any form of trainer. If I did release any I would still remove the net play from the game so people can't use the trainer to get easy achievements, which is probably what most if not all would want.
And to think Pwiz/Chris thought it would never happen! LOL PWiz you have to realise that ol DABBY has contacts here and there and hears things

I might actually invest in a PS3 if it came to that...
I need to continue learning how to make trainers so that I can become as good as DAB here.
Start on the PC of course, not so easy on the PS3. Had to get a devkit with debugging software and learn some of the new mnemonics used for the PS3 for its ASM.
