Settlers: Rise of an Empire Gold Message Board  

I don't quite understand all I need to about this game but, I do like it. I know you build up your original settlement but, after a time you can go no further in upgrading buildings, etc. You do add new territory and build new buildings such as rock quarries, hunting land, and so on. But what I want to know is, do you build up these territories as you did your original territory by adding butcher shops, farms, etc., or do you leave them to supply your original territory, which by this time is a city. I'm sort of lost on this. Anyone out there who can give me an answer?
