If i disable vac when i make a dedicated server, will i be alright to use a trainer with the bots? For example if i use the trainer on my server that is not vac secured, and use it on survival? Would i be alright and not vac banned if i do it? Has anyone tried this?

Isn't VAC always checking your computer trough steam? The only way I know for disabling VAC is trough hacking and that could get you banned.

If you make a dedicated server you have the option of turning off VAC protection for your server (Mostly used for cheat-enabled servers and I don't think any stats gained on non-VAC servers are counted towards achievements and whatnot anyway).
Honestly I don't see the point in doing such a thing, but I've no idea if it would work either.
Yo.

Well yah ive played around with the thought of doing it. I have disabled the VAC option on L4D because there is a option for it and i did look at stats and stuff while on that server and the death count to the zombies kept going up so it did count. Yah i dont hack and i dont want to hack with my Steam account because i have over 500 games on it. It counts towards you steam achievements in single player when you use the trainer. I am just wondering if i disable VAC on a Dedicated Server that i am hosting from my computer, if i would be banned for using a trainer? Has anyone tested this thought of mine?

okay first things first, if you disable vac without using any 3rd party software to disable it then no you will not be banned.
if their is a option through the GAME officially, then no you will not be banned.

Ok, yah i am not using a third party software to disable VAC, i am disabling it directly throeing the tools section for left 4 dead. When i open up the program to start a dedicated server it gives me a option to disable VAC on the server , so what your saying is that if i disable it and only have bots as teammates then i would be alright to use a trainer in survival mode?

I don't see why you should get banned if you CREATE cheat enabled (i.e. VAC disabled) servers.
Though I don't trust gaming companies nowadays, the game has CEG protection added to STEAM so perhaps that can get you banned if you use the Trainer instead of their developer cheats (Like god, noclip, etc).
I recommend you posting this on their STEAM forums.
Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.
